Before the December holidays, I took my 2012 Toyota Fortuner V6 to Tyremart Woodmead to have four new tyres fitted. During this visit, I was told that all four shocks and tie-rods also needed replacing. What followed raised serious concerns around honesty, transparency, and workmanship. First issue: incorrect parts fitted I was quoted for Bilstein shocks. While the vehicle was being worked on, I happened to walk past and noticed that Monroe shocks were being fitted instead. When I queried this with the salesperson, I was told that Monroes are more expensive than Bilsteins, which is factually incorrect. Only after I insisted was the quote adjusted. Had I not noticed this myself, the issue would not have been corrected. Second issue: additional alignment cost of questionable necessity After wheel alignment, I was told there was another issue relating to wheel positioning that required additional work at an additional cost of R1,800. I remain unconvinced that this repair was genuinely necessary. Third issue: dangerous workmanship The day after the tyres, shocks, and tie rods were fitted, I drove from Johannesburg to Cape Town, approximately 1,500 km. The following morning, after discovering a puncture on the rear left tyre, the wheel was removed and it was found that the rear coil spring had not been seated correctly. I had unknowingly driven the entire distance with the coil out of its socket. The mechanics in Cape Town who repaired it confirmed that this posed a serious safety risk and that the vehicle could have rolled had the coil sprung out completely. Tyremart Woodmead did cover the cost of repositioning the coil, but this does not change the fact that the poor workmanship created a potentially life-threatening situation. Based on my experience, I will not recommend Tyremart Woodmead. The combination of incorrect parts being fitted, misleading information, questionable additional charges, and dangerous workmanship is unacceptable. I will not be returning.

Rugash Reddy from TyreMart online Department is truly my ‘go-to-tyre-guy’! Second set of tyres I bought from TyreMart and Rugash helped me to find the exact tyres, which were the complete set of Renegade Radars R7 MT’s and now a set of Maxxis Razr MT’s. Both brands are tricky to find…but Rugash managed to find the right size and brand and also went out of his way to have the tyres delivered to wherever I asked him to in order for them to be fitted to my Pajero’s. Excellent service from this company and especially Rugash!! He will always be my ‘Tyre-Guy’!! Thanks again, my friend for the amazing, friendly and speedy service!!! 10 Stars!!!

Please be careful- fitted two brand new tyres and paid for wheel balancing and alignment. Immediately after driving off I’m now having to fight the steering - car was perfect before I went into their store. If I hold the steering straight the car pulls sharply to the left. Also be careful when you’re in store and they tell you they’ve identified xyz problem that needs to be fixed in addition to the original quote.
