BFGoodrich KO3 SA launch: The next evolution of tough has arrived!

The BFGoodrich KO3 tyre made its exciting debut in South Africa with a four-day event at the stunning Lion & Safari Park in Broederstroom. Held from 15 to 18 October, this event showcased the KO3's cutting-edge features and capabilities, offering attendees an immersive experience in the heart of nature.

The multi-day event was a great gathering of media reps, influencers, and dealers from all over the region. Everyone got to see the KO3 in action on some awesome terrains that really highlighted its durability, traction, and versatility!

Each day offered a range of immersive experiences designed to highlight the KO3’s new engineering features. Day 1 catered specifically to media and influencers, who had the exclusive first look and testing opportunity, capturing engaging content to share with their audiences. This was followed by Dealer Days, which extended over the remaining three days, enabling dealers to experience the KO3 first-hand and understand its core benefits in various driving conditions.

Attendees explored dedicated modules that put the KO3’s key features on display, each module set up to demonstrate the tyre’s impressive handling, strength, and endurance.

Traction

Attendees were taken through challenging uphill and downhill tracks, with plenty of mud to showcase the KO3’s improved mud and snow traction. The new serrated shoulder design and mud-phobic bars proved their worth, offering enhanced grip and stability, especially in slippery conditions. The tyre’s interlocking tread elements maximised handling and on- and off-road traction, providing participants with a confident and stable driving experience.

Toughness

The KO3 was put to the test on jagged rocks and uneven surfaces, highlighting its CoreGard Technology and the Advanced Deflection Design that prevent objects from snagging or splitting the sidewall. These advancements, derived from BFGoodrich’s Baja racing tyres, demonstrated the KO3’s capability to endure the harshest elements, setting a new benchmark in tyre toughness.

Treadwear

A special module was designed to showcase the KO3’s treadwear and longevity. The updated all-terrain tread compound and optimised footprint shape ensure even stress distribution, resulting in long and uniform wear on all surfaces.

Attendees could see first-hand how this tyre is engineered for both on-road longevity and gruelling off-road conditions, with full-depth locking 3D sipes that provide tread block stability over the long haul.

Attendees had the chance to learn about the value the KO3 brings to drivers. With 15% better wear performance, 20% improved gravel durability, and exceptional snow traction compared to its predecessor, the KO2, the KO3 is designed to handle everything from rough gravel roads to challenging snow terrain.
